We hope that our PE provision supports our children to become physically literate: have a desire to lead active lifestyles in the future and become aware of the benefits of exercise.
At Croyland, all children receive 2 hours of PE teaching per week. This equates to 1 hour of indoor PE and 1 hour of outdoor PE. Teachers use online planning portals (iMoves and Real PE) to plan and teach lessons that are engaging and age appropriate. Children are assessed using both formative and summative assessment strategies. Our pupils also have the opportunity to reflect upon their own performance and skill development. In all year groups children are taught games, athletics, dance and gymnastics.
As a school, we also use local professional sports clubs to deliver sports specific lessons. By doing this, we aim to improve the teaching of PE across the whole school.
