Good Morning Year 1

Today is the last day of term 5 and we have a challenge for you to complete today.

Using the worksheet attached, can you work out all of the number bonds to 10 and 20. Perhaps you could time yourself to see how long it takes you.

Thank you for sharing all you work this term and continuing to work hard with your learning at home. throughout the term.

Enjoy your holiday week and let's hope the sun continues to shine over the next week so we can all get out and about.

Have fun but stay safe.

Hot, hot, hot!

We hope you were able to spend some time in the outdoors yesterday, remembering to stay safe in the sun! Today is going to be another warm day, so remember to 'slip, slop and slap'.

Only two more days of home learning left before our half term break, we would love to see pictures of what you have decided to make for your instructions, so far I know someone is going to make scrambled eggs!

For any parents with worries or questions about our potential return to school, please don't hesitate to contact your child's class teacher. We are more than happy to support you!

Have a lovely day,

Mrs Gayton and Mrs Coleman

Good Morning Year 1

Today is most likely going to be the hottest day of the year so far so make sure if you are outside that you remember to wear sun cream and a sun hat.

You could try the daisy challenge today . There should be lots of daisies out as they like the sun. You need to find some daisies  and answer the question 'Do all daisies have the same number of petals?'. We look forward to seeing what you find out

Enjoy the lovely weather today.

Good Morning Year 1

We hope you had a lovely day yesterday. Have you started to make your item ready to write your instructions?

Yesterday Miss Deakin shared a very special video of what all of the teachers have been doing during their time at home! Make sure you take a look, can you spot me and Mrs Coleman?

Why don't you send your teacher an email to let them know what you are up to?

Have a lovely day,

Mrs Gayton and Mrs Coleman

New home learning

Good morning everyone, it looks like it is going to be a lovely week, with lots of sunshine. Please find below the new home learning. This weeks writing activity is a little bit different as we would like you to make something and then write some instructions for how you made it. We can't wait to see what you make.

Miss Deakin has also set you a new challenge and would like to see how you can show 2 meters. The more creative the better. For more information, take a look at Miss Deakin's keeping in touch page.

Have a lovely day,

Mrs Gayton and Mrs Coleman

Friday 15th May 2020

It's Friday again!

Today it is maths challenge day. You need to cut up a piece of paper or card and write one number from 1-10 on each piece. Then choose 2 numbers and make as many different addition and subtraction number sentences as you can such as 3+4= or 4-3=. Write them down and work out the answer. How many number sentences can you make?

It is the last day of 'the snail and whale' story. Today's activity is to make a map of where they visited. You could draw, paint or use different materials to make your map. Remember to label the countries that they visit on your map.

The sun is shining again so make sure you get outside.

Enjoy your day and have a good weekend.

Mrs Coleman and Mrs Gayton

Good Morning Year 1

We hope you have been enjoying this weeks activities. We have just put together next weeks jobs and we have an exciting science activity for you! What else have you been doing this week? I have nearly finished a 1000 piece jigsaw, it has been a very tricky one. I will try and share a picture once it is finished.

Here is the photo I promised from last week of my cat plant pot. As you can see Bella enjoyed looking at her new friend!

Take a look at the messages on the school leaders keeping in touch tab. Mrs Jeffs has posted a lovely activity to make an ant theme park! She would love to see any that you make.

Enjoy your day,

Mrs Gayton and Mrs Coleman
