At the end of each school year, teachers must make a best fit judgement against the Early Learning Goals below, either stating if the children are on track or not on track. 

Early Learning Goals are broken down into 7 areas;

3 prime areas; Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Communication and Language and Physical Development. 

4 specific areas: Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World and Expressive Arts and Design.
