TRACK AND TRACE NOTIFICATION

Dear Parents and carers

A child in the Year 5 bubble has had a positive LFT test.

In line with national guidance your child must stay at home and self-isolate until a PCR test is taken. If the PCR test comes back negative, your child will no longer need to isolate and may return to school. We will contact you the moment we have this information through.

The Year 5 teachers are busy at home preparing remote learning for the rest of this week just in case. They will be in contact in the morning with further information.

We really do appreciate that this is a worrying time for you. If you have any questions or wish to speak to someone, please email croylandprimaryrespo@croylandprimary.org.uk and we will get back to you. The school phones will also be open in the morning.

Yours sincerely

Miss L Deakin

Symptoms of COVID 19

The most common symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are recent onset of:

  • new continuous cough and/or
  • high temperature and/or
  • a loss of, or change in, normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia)

For most people, coronavirus (COVID-19) will be a mild illness.

What to do if your child develops symptoms of COVID 19

If your child develops symptoms of COVID-19, they should remain at home for at least 10 days from the date when their symptoms appeared. Anyone with symptoms will be eligible for testing and this can be arranged via https://www.nhs.uk/ask-for-a-coronavirus-test or by calling 119 .

Tuesday 27th October 2020

Dear Parents and Carers,

We have been made aware of a number of positive Covid tests within our school community.

We know that you may find this concerning but we are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England. This letter is to inform you of the current situation and provide you with advice on how to support your child. Please be reassured that for most people, coronavirus (COVID-19) will be a mild illness.

Following our own track and trace procedures we have no reason to believe that your son or daughter will be affected by the cases in school.

If your child does develop symptoms of COVID-19, you must request a test. The results of the test will have implications on you and your family. You can seek advice from the NHS website at https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/check-if-you-have-coronavirus-symptoms/. If you are concerned about your child’s symptoms, or they are worsening you can seek further advice from NHS 111 at https://111.nhs.uk/ or by phoning 111.

To arrange a test for you or someone in your family, you can follow this link. https://www.nhs.uk/ask-for-a-coronavirus-test or by calling 119. Please remember that if someone in your household is showing symptoms, then you all must isolate until you have had the test result, at which point you will be advised further.

More information is available at: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-stay-at-homeguidance/stay-at-home-guidance-for-households-with-possible-coronavirus-covid-19-infection.

If you would rather talk to a member of staff for clarification, or simply reassurance, please use the following email address croylandprimaryrespo@croylandprimary.org.uk. We will try to respond as soon as we can.

Kind regards,

Miss L Deakin
