Situated in the library area in school is the central school RE display. Here you will find a piece of work per year group displaying the work being covered that term (A photo of this will be updated each term).

Last year the year 5 children visited 3 places of worship in Bedford, a Gudwara, mosque and Church. The year 6 children have had a Hindu visitor and year 1 and foundation Stage have visited a church.

There is a new agreed syllabus for RE in Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire which Croyland primary school helped to write. There are 2 clear attainment targets with assessment criteria for each Year group.

The emphasis in RE teaching is now enquiry based, we will be talking about big questions and children will be expected to use their thinking skills in all RE lessons.

Our Vision for Teaching and Learning of Religious Education at CPS

Religious education enables children to investigate and reflect on some of the most fundamental questions asked by people. At Croyland Primary School we develop the children’s knowledge and understanding of the major world faiths, and we address the fundamental questions in life. We enable children to develop an understanding of Christianity and other world religions.
